I absolutely love Christmas. It is such an amazing time to reflect on the majesty of Jesus and His royalty and glory. I also love all the other aspects of it as well, of course: the parties, the food, meeting up with friends and family.
By the way, I heard (yesterday) an interesting theory about the star that guided the Wise Men to Bethlehem; that is, that it was the Shekinah of God – that is, the visible representation of the glory of God, or the Holy Spirit. This is the same Holy Spirit that was a flame of fire and a pillar of cloud in the Old Testament when leading the Israelites’ escape from Egypt, and also the flames of fire that broke out on the New Testament Church when the Holy Spirit was first given to the followers of Jesus. There is no way that I know that we can prove this theory either way, but it certainly makes sense to me!
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a son is given;
And the government shall be upon His shoulder.
And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God.Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end.Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,To order it and establish it with judgement and justice From that time forward, even forever.The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
